Antonio Mironi

Antonio Mironi is a certified instructor by the Apnea Academy Sports Association and the Italian Foundation for Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities (FIPSAS). An expert connoisseur of the Capri seabed, Sorrento Peninsula and Amalfi Coast, he has been practicing the discipline of freediving since a very young age.

His years of experience as an assistant and freediving instructor make him the perfect guide for exploring the wonders of our seabed in safety.

Under Antonio's attentive and professional guidance, come and discover the feeling of freedom and connection with the sea that only freediving can offer. Antonio will be present at all stages: from checking in at the store to equipment rental, from the hours spent at sea to the final debriefing.

A tale of passion

Capri Freediving is a dream come true. The project was born in my heart from a very young age; I was only 3 years old when my father took me to the sea for the first time to fish on the pier in the port of Sorrento with a bamboo fishing rod. It was love at first sight. As I look back on the years of my growth, my love for the aquatic element grew stronger each day. I remember the purest and most innocent moments of my childhood when I already appreciated the simple pleasures of the sea: fishing and the first free diving experiences in the blue waters of Capri.

Life crossroads

I spent my school years in the metropolitan city of Milan where I never had the opportunity to fully cultivate my passion. My work life took me to busy cities like Berlin and Milan. Although my education made me pursue a conventional career path, I knew within me that those office days were there to end soon. In the hustle bustle of a big city, I lacked the connection I shared with the water. I felt trapped and was unable to express my true self.

Turning point

During my working years in finance, I faced a turning point. I was fortunate to meet Francesco Sena. Francesco is a freediving instructor, sailor, and spearfisherman. Meeting with Francesco left me with a revived energy to rebuild my lifestyle and start my journey back with the sea - where I truly belong. Finally I was able to break away from the shackles holding me back.

New beginnings

I moved to Sorrento. With an unwavering and sharp focus, I started my freediving training following the Apnea Academy Standards for a few years. My days included meditation, pranayama techniques as well as dry training for equalization. The time invested and the skills acquired anchored me towards the freediving instructor course, the ultimate goal to new beginnings

Dream come true

I was fortunate to have trained under the guidance of pioneers in the world of freediving such as Davide Carrera, Umberto Pelizzari, Enrico Lupo. As I continued to build onto my passion, I initiated the project of my dreams - Capri Freediving. Capri Freediving is a centre where individuals can learn freediving techniques and appreciate the relaxation it entails.

Through Capri Freediving, I can finally share my experiences and emotions of the underwater world in a greater sphere with larger audiences.
